Geospatial & Data Analytics

Coleman Data Scientists work closely with our clients to provide effective and innovative IT solutions for enterprise-wide business and infrastructure challenges, achieve cost efficiencies by streamlining and consolidating efforts, and developing solutions to programs to increase service-level capabilities and improve business processes.

Our Data Analytics team turns data into action by creating visual, interactive reports for actionable intelligence. Eighty percent (80%) of the global information volume is location-based, and geospatial data analysis is at the front line of big data manipulation. Our team of analysts incorporates big data behavioral analysis and prediction algorithms, including statistical, spatial, and multi-agent system analysis. These platform solutions provide decision-makers, strategic planners, and operational staff with the tools to understand and act upon their reality better. Using ArcGIS, Python, JavaScript, Web APl’s, and other data science tools, we transform disparate data (social media, demographics) into manageable information. We use the latest web and geospatial technologies to analyze and integrate data from multiple sources, such as geospatial satellite coverage and social media networks.

Case in Point: The United States Census Bureau GIS Technology Delivers Key Global Demographic Data Fast

The United States Census Bureau’s International Database (IDB) is a vital resource for understanding global demographic trends. This interactive demographic data visualization tool provides comprehensive global population estimates and projections for subnational areas worldwide. Making regular updates to the IDB is essential to ensure that users have access to the most current and accurate data on ever-changing global population characteristics. In 2011 The Coleman Group, Inc. was brought in to provide technical assistance and contribute to the IDB’s evolution. Since then, we have collaborated with the Census Bureau to integrate the latest developments in apps and technology, creating robust analytical tools. Case in Point: The United States Census Bureau GIS Mapping for the Household COVID-19 Pulse Survey

Coleman develops 508-compliant web-and mobile-based applications used by the general public, public health officials, and local and federal policymakers. We configure and distribute the Pulse weekly e-newsletter on a strict schedule so that the data are disseminated in near real-time to inform federal and state response and recovery planning. The Coleman Group’s software and GIS developers and engineers support the Household Pulse’s weekly emails that display the survey results to the public, the data mapping tools on the Census Bureau website, data tables, and public use file. Case in Point: Pandemics and Behavior Change: Researching Resistant Populations

The Coleman Group is conducting research that has yielded positive results in changing behavior attitude, and risk perception around COVID-19 among a resistant population rarely studied. GIS mapping was used to visualize the population location and overlay survey data. Learn more about the research.
